En route to a federal penitentiary, diabolical murderer Peter Cronin (Anthony Michael Hall)  boards Flight 285 to Dallas. With cunning assistance from two on-board accomplices, they manage to overpower his captors, hijack the plane and take hundreds of innocent passengers as hostages with a threat to detonate a bomb located on his laptop computer. Cronin phones the FBI agent responsible for his capture and demands that his ex-partner Deni Patton (Ally Sheedy) play in this evil game with him. Reluctantly, Cronin agrees, and Deni Patton moves in to help rescue the passengers aboard the plane. Will Patton be able to successfully rescue the passengers, or has she managed to turn her captors into most unlikely allies?
