The story opens when youthful, rebellious Jo (Powers) seduces a stranger, then flees when she discovers he's the elusive assassin of a South American political leader. Years later, Jo's indiscretion comes back to haunt her in a chance meeting with the killer. His reappearance coincides with the visit of another South American official and only he and Jo know what that coincidence means. The Dangerous Pursuit has begun.
