In this suspense filled thriller, Will Lee (Bernsen), is an ambitious Southern lawyer and aide to one of Washington's most powerful senators. When the senator suffers a stroke, Lee agrees to enter the race for his vacated seat, unaware of how profoundly this decision will affect his life. At the same time, he is forced by a local judge (Burr) to defend a young man in a controversial and potentially explosive murder trial, which could devastate his political career and force his estrangement from the woman he loves (Harris), a CIA agent. Most terrifying of all, Lee becomes the unknowing target of a shadowy and violent organization whose membership reaches into the highest levels of government and who will stop at nothing to achieve their goals. As events unfold around him, Lee must decide whether his pursuit of  political power and fame are worth the overwhelming risks to himself and those he loves.
