Joan Robinson Hill (Farrah Fawcett) adores her husband the acclaimed surgeon Dr John Hill (Sam Elliott). She is an internationally famous horsewoman absorbed with her expertise, while he devotes his time to music and the pursuit of the lovely Ann Kurth (Katharine Ross). Dr Hill marries Ann, following the mysterious death of his first wife Joan. Scared by a series of frightening episodes Ann obtains a divorce. Dr Hill marries for the third time. But then Dr Hill is murdered. Who did it?
