Were we wrong all those years? Didn't Hitler die in that bunker, as everyone assumed? Is the dictator dead, or does his legacy live on in America? That is the challenging remise of this black comic thriller.
The Norwegian researcher Skule Antonsen becomes obsessed with his statement that Hitler managed to escape to the US at the end of the war to build a new life there, as Adolf Munchenhauser. Even worse his research shows that Munich's influence on American society was immense. He came up with the concept of the TV soap, turned out to be a pioneer of rocket science, founded the fast food chain McBratwurst and even coined a plan to replace the faces of Mount Rushmore with his beloved dog Blonde. Determined to unravel the mystery, Antonsen continues his search for the truth. But as his mission reveals unsettling new things, it becomes clear that certain agencies were not comfortable with his research.
A hilarious "faux documentary" style film, reminiscent of Peter Jackson's Forgotten Silver and Woody Allens Zelig.
