Based on the U.S. hit song by Bobby Russell and recorded by Vicki Lawrence, this lusty romantic comedy focuses on aspiring country singer Wild Travis Child and his younger sister/manager Amanda, who is determined to turn her brother into ‘the biggest star that ever hit Nashville’. Road blocks along the way include rowdy roadhouses, mean cops and beautiful blondes who deter Travis at every step of the way. When the pair become stranded in a small town by a crooked judge and a vicious deputy sheriff, trouble begins and even the state trooper (played by Mark Hamill of ‘Star Wars’ fame) who falls in love with Amanda, is powerless to help. Rich in detail, the film graphically displays the one-night stands, sleazy hotels, and roadside bars of Southern America. Punctuated by plenty of action, comedy, suspense and sensual women, this movie contains great songs, written and sung by luminaries of the country and western music scene such as Tanya Tucker, Glen Campbell, George Jones, Tommy Wynette, Billy Preston and Syreeta Wright.
