The King of England is dying. The heir to the throne, Prince Edward, meets Tom Canty, a pauper's son, by chance. The two boys look exactly alike, and the Prince decides they will change places but only for one hour. Edward will get to live as an ordinary boy, and Tom will be able to enjoy the perks of royalty. But things don't quite go to plan. 
This acclaimed six-part period drama was adapted by screenwriter Richard Harris, whose credits include The Avengers, The Saint, The Sweeney and Shoestring. Nominated for a Daytime Emmy in 1977 for Outstanding Children' Entertainment Series.

A six episode miniseries.
Running Time 160 minutes.
