May 1960 a US pilot named Francis Gary Powers, is flying a top secret spy mission over the Soviet Union. The U-2 plane is shot down by anti-aircraft missiles, and Powers escapes from his plane, only to be captured by the Russians. This movie vividly recreates Power's trial behind the "Iron Curtain" and his subsequent conviction for espionage.
